Baseline Cowboys Buck up for Christie Lake Kids

Donate your empties and make change !

Thanks to the creative enthusiasm and community spirit of 5 roommates who call themselves “The Baseline Cowboys”, next Wednesday August 3rd will raise funds for Christie Lake Kids with empties!

You may recognize these spirited fellows from their usual perch on Baseline Road and cheerful signs inspiring folks to give to their charity and “spread the awesome”, or froem the many blog posts (http://www.knitnut.net/2011/07/awesome-wednesday/)  about them … or from their recent interview on Majic 100! .  They are changing the face of Wednesday in Ottawa with their awesome hump-day remedy. They have taken their joyful message one step further and this Wedneday they are going to make a lasting difference in the lives of children living in poverty in Ottawa.  Now that is AWESOME.

So, on Wednesday collect your empty beer, wine,  and your loose change and pony up at the Beer Store  parking lot of College Square shopping centre (at Baseline and Woodroffe).  The Cowboys will be there all afternoon (2-6) to accept your donations for Christie Lake Kids. 

We are very grateful to Susan, a self confessed “big fan of CLK” ,  who brought CLK forward to the Baseline Cowboys as a possible fundraiser.   There were several deserving candidates but thanks to amazing support we were chosen to benefit.  Susan has been committed for the kids we serve and is a long time Canoe for Kids Paddler and STAR art program volunteer.   She will be promoting this  fundraiser on her blog (www.knitnut.net).

Please spread the word – this is a fun and envirnomentally friendly way to raise dollars for CLK – and we want to get behind these Cowboys in the most awesome use of a Wednesday yet!
